Our story
This story begins in La Fatarella, a small town in Tarragona.
Ramón Llop was born there. A man of the land. With calloused hands and a bold gaze. He cultivated almonds, but above all, he cultivated trust. Because Ramón was a man of his word. And when someone keeps their word, everything else flourishes.
What started as something small grew into something big...
Local farmers began entrusting him with their harvests. They knew he would treat them as his own. That's how the commercial side of the business was born: quietly, but with steady purpose. And that essence lives on today.
Then came Carmen and Eduardo.
The second generation. More miles, more markets, more world...but the same roots. The business crossed borders, importing and exporting nuts and dried fruits, opening doors in new countries, never losing sight of where it all began.
And... what about the makhanas ?
Sometimes the best stories find you when you least expect them.
During Covid, when the world stood still, Amitabh Mantra — one of the world's largest makhana producers — was looking for a family in Europe to share his vision with. Not just a business partner. A family... And he found one.
In 2023, he knocked on the Llop family's door.
On the other side was Inés , Ramón's granddaughter. New generation. New energy. The same essence.
She saw what others didn't: an opportunity. A new seed with the potential to grow into something extraordinary. And she convinced the family to bet on it.
Because, at the end of the day, Amit and Ramón aren't so different after all.
They share something no business school can teach: respect for the land, passion for a job well done, discretion, commitment, and care for the small details. A new generation. New energy. The same essence.
In this story, we also welcome Angelita Montuenga, a key figure within a family group of entrepreneurs, a close friend of the Llop family, who collaborates on building alliances and activating communities for purpose-driven brands and projects, helping bring the new product to market in Spain.
This is where our universe begins...
From small things.
From seeds that seem insignificant… until they bloom.
Everything we are — and everything yet to come — we owe to the courage of a man who believed in the small things.
And we all know what happens when you nurture something small with love: it grows beyond anything you ever imagined.
